Last month, some really good friends of mine from my fashion school
and I went to this amazing, brilliant, event called RetroRama.
Everyone was dressed head to toe in vintage finds, I'm talking
vintage as far back as the 1900's. I was literally in heaven the entire night.
The flyer said "Wear Your Vintage" So I wore a vintage blazer,
vintage acid wash jeans, 2 vintage gold chains, a vintage clutch,
a white cropped tank from American Apparel, and my
Jeffrey Campbell Leopard Pony Litas... I was pretty much
the only person there rocking the 80's look...
Do these outfits look familiar? Well they should! All three of
my lovely ladies sported their Moon Daisy Vintage looks
they have snagged in the past! And did a damn good job too.
Aimee (far left) is rocking the vintage Beaded jacket
she got from MDV.
Missy (left) is rocking the beaded sheer dress she snagged from MDV,
and Mindy (right) is rocking the floral jumpsuit she snagged. HOT!
So many free cocktails, so little time...
There were 3 floors at the event, the second floor was vintage
vendors, my oh my it was a joyous time! The vintage
pieces were amazing!
Aimee knows that I love sparkle and sequins, so everywhere
we go she makes sure to point them out to me!
I met this really neat chica named Madison, she came up to compliment
my outfit and we ended up chatting for like 15 minutes. She
was working for vendor Blacklist Vintage, and then I found
out she was graduating high school the next day. Go girl!
There were so many looks I was obsessing over, like these vintage
Coca-Cola trousers.
Me & my ladies concluded that this bag was vintage Prada, though
none of us had the balls to ask the woman.
We found a little girl dancing to the live band wearing her
great grandma's dress from the 1950's!
It looks quaint, but it got packed quickly.
The Women's Rights Fashion Show was incredible!
Christopher Straub from Project Runway Season 6 designed
this super amazing Jackie-O inspired ladies suit. Then
he was nice enough to let us photograph him after the fashion show!
Then I took a photo with a really nice door holder who
just happened to be wearing an Uncle Sam costume,
I know, I know, but I love this photo!
And for anyone in the Twin Cities area who is as
passionate about vintage as I am, you should most definitely
attend this event next year! It was the highlight of my spring!
